District Dance Festival, in its second edition, is a festival dedicated to contemporary dance, created and organised by the Compagnia Atacama under the artistic direction of Patrizia Cavola and Ivan Truol. From 6 to 15 October 2023 the Festival presents performances, workshops and meetings in the San Lorenzo district, at La Scatola dell’Arte and Tuscolano, at the Teatro Furio Camillo. The activities are open at a large audience including children. District Dance Festival 2023 is realised in collaboration with La Scatola dell’Arte ETS, the Cattedra di Storia della Danza of La Sapienza Università di Roma and the Associazione l’Archimandrita.

On Sunday 2 July 2023, Compagnia Atacama presents its new production ANIME as part of Paesaggi del Corpo International Contemporary Dance Festival, organised by the Associazione La Scatola dell’Arte in Velletri.
The input of this creation is the concept of LIVING, developed through the relationship between human being and space and the influence of history and the characteristics of the place on the person. Living as an essential condition of existence that is not just a being, but first and foremost a being. The theme is declined in space, architecture and interaction with the body. The Poetry of Place in dialogue with the Poetry of the Body. The choreographic writing plays with architectural elements, levels, solids and voids, near and far. A creation that finds its identity in the site specific, a performative action that fits into a specific place.

District Dance Festival is the 1st edition of a contemporary dance festival, conceived and organized by the Atacama Company, performed at the Roman districts of San Lorenzo and Ostiense, represented by two locations: La Scatola dell’Arte and Teatro Marconi.
