BENVENUT* is a spontaneous smile that reaches the thought, a deep reflection that does not remain on the surface; BENVENUT* is lightness and poetry, distinction and fluidity; a caress that does no good and a slap that does no cry. BENVENUT* is the point of union between pink and blue, waxing and razor, lipstick and beard. The male gender and the female gender have always been considered distinct, distant, opposite and different from each other; for society every person, human being or living being, must wear a suitable dress, of the his or her size, which, without choice, comes in size “M” or “F” depending on the sex of birth. But is the male really only male and the female only female? At every individual, regardless of sexual orientation, coexist both these aspects, two energies that merge together and cannot be distinguished. The human being is not made to be labeled, nicknamed or framed within predefined patterns; he does not allow himself to be pigeonholed within a too rigid and monochrome table or described under a title too short and without nuance; human beings are made of contradictions, of empty and fullness, of highs and lows; he is generally confusing, likes to walk several paths simultaneously and shuns being just “one thing.” The human being loves sequins but shaves his hair, wears pants but over a 100 heel, mirrors himself insecure but sees himself as strong. The human being is freedom, is “asterisk.” BENVENUT*, which opens like a Parisian cabaret evening, enacts some of the stereotypes that have always and too often been attached to the male and female gender, in an ironic and bizarre key, as if to emphasize their absurdity.
